The reception staff will assist you in making appointments to see your doctor, undertake repeat prescriptions, arrange home visits and transport to hospital when necessary. The receptionists are fully trained and have a difficult job to do. Please remember that if you are kept waiting or are asked some apparently irritating questions, it is because our policy is aimed at the smooth and safe running of the practice. We need to ascertain the urgency of particular requests and sometimes spend longer with patients than we have allowed.
Services provided by our practice nurses include dressings, ear syringing, removal of sutures, cervical smear tests, blood pressure checks, dietary advice and a full range of immunisations and travel vaccinations. Nursing clinics include asthma, diabetes, family planning and teenage health screening.
The CCG employs district nurses, health visitors and midwives who provide services for our patients. Details as follows:
Students are sometimes attached to the practice as part of their training. If a medical student or nurse is 'sitting in' with a doctor during surgery you will be asked whether or not you wish the student to be present during your consultation.
