Nursing Team
We have qualified minor illness diagnostic nurses who operate triage clinics for the GP.
Services provided by our practice nurses include dressings, ear syringing, removal of sutures, cervical smear tests, blood pressure checks, dietary advice and a full range of immunisations and travel vaccinations. Nursing clinics include asthma, diabetes, family planning and health screening.
Reception Team
The reception team are all trained Care Navigators and will assist you in making appropriate appointments with the clinical team, undertake repeat prescriptions, arrange home visits and transport to hospital when necessary. The receptionists are fully trained care navigators and have a difficult job to do. Please remember that if you are kept waiting or are asked some apparently irritating questions, it is because our policy is aimed at the smooth and safe running of the practice. We need to ascertain the urgency of particular requests and sometimes spend longer with patients than we have allowed.
Practice Management and Administration
Lin Spence and Justine Jobson are the Practice Managers, who are supported in their role by Samantha Ashby & Elaine Bell the practice administrators and Louisa Reynolds the practice referral secretary.
Community District Nurses
We have a close liaison with the district nurses and other professionals who provide medical care in the community. You may be referred to these specialist personnel when appropriate.
Health Visitors
Health visitors visit all families with children under five years. They provide information, advice and support to families, particularly in times of physical and emotional stress.
Medical/Nurse Training
Students are sometimes attached to the practice as part of their training. If a medical student or nurse is 'sitting in' with a doctor during surgery you will be asked whether or not you wish the student to be present during your consultation.
