Tetanus Immunisations

All patients are recommended to ensure that they are immune against the deadly disease of tetanus which is particularly prevalent in Essex. A course consists of three injections, a month apart, and should be boosted at 10-yearly intervals. A maximum of five injections is needed for lifelong immunity.

Hepatitis A And Hepatitis B Immunisation

Those working in the police, ambulance, nursing or any other occupation in which they are liable to come into contact with body fluids are advised to have a course of Hepatitis A and B vaccines. The same applies to those travelling to certain countries. Please contact reception to arrange an appointment with the nurse to discuss your requirements.

Immunisation for Children

It is strongly recommended by the Department of Health and it is our practice's policy that ALL children are vaccinated against major diseases, unless there is a specific medical reason for not doing so.

Flu Vaccinations

These are strongly advised for everyone over 65 years old or those who have chest diseases or diabetes etc. They are available in October and November each year. We offer protection against pneumonia in the form of a vaccine. Please ask for details.
